Panasonic serves up new range of air conditioners

By Grant Shepherd

SYDNEY: Panasonic has embraced its newly formed sponsorship deal with Tennis Australia to launch a new range of air conditioners at the Men’s Final of the Medibank International Sydney over the weekend.

Just before Marcos Baghdatis faced off against Richard Gasquet in the final at Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday 16 January, Panasonic unveiled its new range of air conditioners featuring advanced inverter technology and a new curved design.

There are 11 air conditioners in the new range consisting of four E-Series Deluxe Reverse Cycle Inverter models and four S-Series Cooling Only Inverter models. The entry level model in the E-Series range is the CS/CU-E9JKR with an RRP of $1,219 and goes right up to the CS/CU-E28JKR for RRP $3,119. The S-Series starts off with the CS/CU-S9JKR for RRP $999 through to the CS/CU- S28JKR for RRP $2,629.

One of the main features being promoted in the new line-up is Panasonic’s Mild Dry Cooling technology. This helps prevent a rapid decrease in room humidity while maintaining the set temperature so the air is less dry.

The Inverter Deluxe Reverse Cycle models are also very safe for consumers due to the e-ion Air Purifying System with patrol sensor. Mathew Harrison, group marketing manager, air conditioning, Panasonic Australia, commented on this feature.

“The Patrol Sensor detects the amount of dirt in the air, then initiates the Active E-ion air purification system which catches and deactivates the dust, bacteria, mould or virus,” he said.

Other features include Quiet Mode to reduce indoor and outdoor noise, and economy mode, which reduces energy consumption by up to 20 per cent compared to normal mode.

The new range is currently being supported with a TVC campaign that will run heavily throughout the tennis season and the hot summer months.
