Panasonic going strong in air-con

By Grant Shepherd

SYDNEY: Spurred on by an all new range, TV advertising campaign and a new sponsorship deal with Tennis Australia, Panasonic Australia is expecting its most successful air conditioning sales period on record.

Speaking at the launch of the new Panasonic air conditioner range on Saturday 16 January, was Mat Harrison, group marketing manager, air conditioning, Panasonic Australia, who outlined some of the company’s impressive results.

“We recorded impressive sales across October, November and December 2009 and our sales are currently tracking at more than 25 per cent higher than last year,” he said.

“Every year we set expectations for what we want to achieve, but this summer we have definitely exceeded our expectations.”

Harrison was also very confident that the company will continue this strong performance over the course of the summer season due to new product releases and a strong advertising campaign.

Panasonic Australia will be heavily supporting the new range of air conditioners throughout summer with its first air conditioning television advertising campaign, called ‘Mission Control’. This TVC will be shown on Channel 7 throughout the Australian Open and is a part of the company’s new three-year sponsorship deal with Tennis Australia.

The campaign is designed to highlight the benefits of the new inverter air conditioner range, which consists of 11 models and incorporates features such as Mild Dry Cooling, Patrol Sensor, e-ion Air Purifying System and Quiet Mode.
