Brother, can you spare an endangered species?

SYDNEY, NSW: Office appliance manufacturer Brother is currently working with Earthwatch to provide longterm, sustainable and tangible outcomes to issues facing the environment. One of the initiatives of this partnership is Project Manta, in which Brother is resolved to reverse the endangerment of the east Australian manta ray.

Brother is using its imaging technology to assist Earthwatches scientists complete a comprehensive study of manta rays and their environment. It is thought this research will lead to developments that could increase the species survival rate for other threatened animals, including polar bears, sunfish, whale sharks and leopards.

“Earthwatch is one of the world’s largest private supporters of scientific field research and conservation. Brother Australia and Earthwatch work together to support critical conservation efforts focusing on Climate Change and Sustainable Resource Management,” said Brother brand and marketing manager Heidi Webster.

The current Brother LED printer and multi-function range includes the following products:

HL-3040CN: single pass printing, 16ppm colour printing, 32 megabytes of memory, 250-sheet tray, Ethernet and USB. RRP: $479.

HL-3070CW: as above, with wireless networking, 64 megabytes of memory, USB direct and backlit LCD display. RRP: $579.

MFC-9120CN: as above, with 33.6lbps fax modem, 200 speed dials, scan to FTP and PC fax software. RRP: $899.

MF-9320CW: as above, with built-in wireless interface, print from and scan to USB and secure lock function. RRP: $999.
